]]>So many people in the Metropolitan area were deeply affected by Hurricane Katrina. In thanksgiving for the many blessings the parish of St. Mark's and its parishioners received, we decided to become a housing center for workers coming into the area. Our mission is to ensure that those who would labor in the vineyard of New Orleans will be able to share in our hospitality and love.

The members of St. Mark's are dedicated to helping others without regard to location . We were especially pleased to assist one of our former members serving in Iraq with a project to help provide for the local kids in their service area.
The Soldiers of the 1-141st Field Artillery Battalion (Task Force Thurnder) serving in Operation Iraqi Freedom III, Baghdad Iraq undertook a project to help the children in the area. They asked for donations of clothing, sporting equipments and toys. The members of St. Mark's raised $5,000 and were able to send a truckload of items to the soldiers for distribution. Each item was packed with love from the entire congregation.

St. Mark's is proud to participate in the Heifer International Program which provides families in need with live animals that allow them to begin an income sustaining business. St. Mark's has been pleased to provide families with a variety of animals including llamas, beehives and cows over the years.
St. Mark's participation provides assistance to families in many countries including the United States.
]]>St. Mark's believes that prayer not only allows us to communicate with Our Lord but it is the greatest gift we can give both to ourselves and to others. We have an active prayer chain. If you have a need, please contact us at prayer@stmarksharvey.org to make your prayer request. We consider it one of the great privileges of life to prayer for others.
We embrace the ministry of prayer through our prayer chain, prayer meetings and with prayer ministers at each Sunday service.
If you would like to participate in our prayer chain, please contact us.
